Are you searching for a very quick FREE knitting pattern for Halloween?
This particular knitting pattern is very quick, and you could easily knit up a few for a spectacular Halloween display in the spot of your choice!
It also doesn’t use very much yarn, and thus is a great yarn scrap buster.
For this project, although the pattern creator recommends lightweight worsted yarn or DK (double knitting), you could probably turn out some spectacular ghosties with any yarn of your choice!
When the recommended lightweight worsted or DK yarn is used, a finished ghost measures a tiny 2.3 inches tall.
For this project, you will also need a darning or tapestry needle, two small black seed beads and two small pieces of white felt for the eyes, and black embroidery thread (or yarn would also work) for the mouth.
You can REALLY have fun with the mouth on this project! Almost anything goes and will surely end up with a great result!
One thing I really like about this pattern is that the rows are numbered, so all you have to do is keep track of the row number you are on, making it very simple to not lose your place in the middle of the pattern.
This pattern is knitted in the flat on a pair of straight knitting needles, rather than on circular needles. You will need to have knowledge of techniques including casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, and sewing a seam.
Have fun with this one, and feel free to post pictures if you get any of these done!
