Lion Brand Wool Ease is the recommended yarn for this knitting pattern. This type of yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% wool, providing it with the softness and feel of wool while at the same time being easy to care for. Basically, however, any worsted-weight yarn will work, although you will need to achieve the correct gauge.
For this project, you will also need US Size 8 knitting needles and your choice of bag handles. Wooden handles are suggested, as they will hold the shape of the bag and not allow it to stretch like some other types of handles.
