Before I say anything about the free knitting pattern for this absolutely gorgeous table runner, I need to point out that it is HIGHLY recommended that you don’t use any type of acrylic yarn if you plan on placing hot items on top of the table runner. Cotton yarn is instead the recommended type of yarn to use for this project.
This pattern is pretty extensive, as it is a 48-row repeat in 19 + 17 + 19 stitch sections, along with a 2-row repeat of garter stitch for the beginning and end of the runner.
Although worsted-weight yarn is recommended in the pattern, as well as US Size 9 needles, the designer of this pattern subsequently recommended that a lighter weight yarn be used, such as that which you would use for lace knitting.
Other needed supplies include stitch markers, a yarn needle, and scissors.
This definitely isn’t a beginner pattern. Some of the rows within the 48 repeat appear similar but are somewhat different, so it’s very important to keep track of exactly which row you are on with this project!
