The “Perfect” Poinsettia Christmas Throw!

Here is a FREE knitting pattern for this absolutely gorgeous poinsettia Christmas throw!

This particular knitting pattern is rated as being in the intermediate knitting level.

Materials and tools needed include two skeins each of Red Heart Super Saver in Soft White, Paddy Green, Cherry Red, and Burgundy.

You will also need a stitch marker, a stitch holder, and a US Size 10 circular knitting needle that is 24 inches in length, or whatever needle size is needed for you to get the gauge correct. Gauge is important with this project.

The finished throw measures approximately 45 inches x 56 inches.

The throw itself is knitted in sections of garter stitch. The poinsettias are knitted separately and then sewn onto the finished throw.

Special stitches needed for this project include kfb (knit into front and back), MB (make bobble), and s2k1p2 (slip 2 stitches as if to knit 2 together, knit 1, and pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch and off the needle). Complete instructions for all three of these techniques are included in the pattern.

This throw is knitted in rectangular sections, each identified by a separate section number, and there is a helpful chart that shows the exact layout of the different sections.
