The FREE knitting pattern for this Folly Waves baby blanket creates one of the most gorgeous baby blankets imaginable!
This one is done using an 18-stitch repeat, although adding a few more stitches will result in more wave in the pattern, with the pattern curving up and then down, similar to waves; thus the name “Folly Waves.”
Gauge isn’t terribly important, so if you’re like me and have some trouble getting the right gauge with knitting, this is a great pattern for you to consider knitting.
Using the yarn and needle size recommended in the pattern will result in a blanket that measures 32 inches wide, although you could use a larger needle size or a larger yarn, which would result in a larger blanket.
Going up a needle size will produce a blanket that is lighter, with more “airy” lace.
